MISTAKE OF THE UNION ADDRESS
We the people are less than twenty-four hours away from President Obama’s State of the Union Address. This is one of the most important speeches a President can give and usually one of the most boring.
The President usually tries to do two things; explain what has happened and present their agenda for the next year. If things are going well, they take a bow, if not, they blame things that are beyond their control.
The President is in a tough place tomorrow night.
He wanted to congratulate the Congress for passing health care, he can't.
He wanted to welcome the new Democratic Senator from Massachusetts, he can’t.
He wanted to tell the nation that his economic policies have turned the tide on job loss and the unemployment rate has dropped, he can’t.
He wanted to rally his base and announce that Gitmo is finally closed, he can’t.
He wanted to assure us that have never been more secure, he can’t. He wanted to announce the rest of his far left, liberal agenda, if he is smart, he won’t.
It is rare to find a President that has so few accomplishments and so little to talk about but talk and talk and talk he will, it is what this President does best.
His administration believes, when in doubt, when you can’t govern, go back out on the campaign trail. The President feels comfortable there. In the last year he has given over four hundred speeches.
I have said before that perhaps the office of President is above this President’s pay grade. If it isn’t above Mr. Obama’s pay grade, it certainly is above the pay grade and competence of the people he surrounds himself with. They don’t understand that the job is to lead and govern. It is not about awards, speeches or photo opps.
Since the election of Scott Brown the President and his cronies have asked us to follow this logic.
The election of Republican Scott Brown in Massachusetts is actually a victory for President Obama…WHAT?
This convoluted reasoning is the same old song we have been listening to all year. It is a victory for the President because people are so angry with George Bush they voted for a Republican in Massachusetts. Don’t laugh the White House is so arrogant that they think you will believe this nonsense.
So which President Obama will we see tomorrow night? The “full steam ahead” far left President we have seen for the past year? Will we see the “Time Warp” President…just a step to the right? This is the dance that former President Clinton liked to do when his liberal agenda wasn't doing well.
The only things we can be sure of is that the speech will be long.
It will be pure spin and the numbers used will be made up.
It will be praised by the MO, Curley and Larry of the airways, the MSNBC crew,(Matthews, Maddow and Obermann).
However, the only thing we know that will absolutely happen is that the President and his administration will take no responsibility for their actions over the past year and will continue to try to blame verything from the bad economy to the Underware Bomber and the Eearthquake in Haiti on former President Bush, that’s a lock.
