I read in an AP story that those pesky Florida Dems are at it again. You have to take your hats off to the Florida Democrats. Usually they are upset with Florida Republicans, you know those folks that stole the election a few years ago, and the Florida Democrats wanted a “do over.” They couldn’t quite grasp this electoral process thing that had been around for two hundred or so years.

Now the Florida Democrats are mad and who do you think they are mad at? Hey, there will be an election in a little over a year at, who else would they be mad at? Other Democrats, of course, more specifically the National Democratic Party and its leader Howard Dean. Not really news for most of us Democrats, we are mad at each other most of the time anyway, ask Senator Lieberman, oh wait a minute he is and Independent now after being dumped by the Democratic Party for having integrity and conviction of his beliefs. He got what he deserved if you ask me. There hasn’t been a place in the U.S. Senate for integrity and conviction since John Danforth left.

Senator Bill Nelson and Rep. Alcee Hastings are planning to sue the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and chairman Howard Dean. They claim that the DNC did not have the right to take away Florida’s Democratic delegates because those equally pesky Republicans in the Florida legislature set the date for the Florida Primary for January 29 which would be in violation of DNC rules who have mandated that only with a few exceptions, primaries cannot take place prior to February 5.

The lawsuit will claim that the DNC has created “a stunning anti-democratic scenario…Democratic votes in Florida will be disenfranchised.”

This could be the beginning of the Democratic Party's favorite election year diversion...fighting with each other and snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. You just have to love them when they have a plan.

-Why have they delayed blaming President Bush?
-Why hasn’t Mrs. Edwards blamed Senator Clinton?
-Why isn't this Rush Limbaugh’s fault?
-Is this really part of a vast left wing or right wing conspiracy?
-Why hasn’t little Sen. Chucky “I love to be on camera" Schumer D-NY commented on this?
-Why hasn’t Senator Durban D IL likened this incident to something that would happen under Stalin?

If I were a Floridian, probably the only question I would be really interested in right now is: Why didn’t the Gators win last week and can they beat LSU this week?

That is far more important than the sound bite politics side show.

Over the last couple of weeks we have witnessed in the United States Congress that there may not be only a "culture of corruption" but also a "culture of stupidity" as well as the usual hypocrisy.

We have all been treated to the lunatic ravings of moveon.org about a general and now we get the opportunity to watch and listen to endless hours of ravings about a radio talk show host. The move on attack on the general was despicable but nothing that we hadn't seen from this group in the past. The assault on the talk show host was a ridiculous, I heard the original broadcast and the interpretation of what was said was spun for fun. But both incidences had one thing in common a not so subtle assault on the first amendment.

It appears that our friends on the left and the right are all in favor of the first amendment unless they don't agree with what you are saying. 71 Senators from both parties took issue with moveon.org, while 41 took issue with the talk show host. All of this done on the floor of the Senate.

Here is my question; do we have serious issues to deal with about the war, national security, health care, our dependence on foreign oil and other pressing matters? If we do, then why is the United States Congress wasting time on a web site and talk show host?

It is time for us to wake up and demand that our elected representatives stop turning the people's house into a circus tent for their own narrow political agendas. It is clear that the Members of Congress are more concerned with sound bite politics than doing the people's business. It isn't one party’s fault; it is both party's fault. We need to let them know as Peter Finch so apply put it in the movie "Network"..."We are mad as hell and we aren't going to take it anymore"

When one has good things going for him, it is wise to do everything you can to protect the goodness therein. Celebreties seem to go out of their way to say, "Rules don't apply to me." Can we think of Lindsey, Brittany or Paris?

Micheal Vick, though, seems to out do them all. In August, Vick pleaded guilty to federal charges in the dog fighting scandal. In September, charges were brought against him by the state of Virginia. He won't be sentenced until December and has limitations placed on him because of that pending sentencing hearing. The idiot failed a drug test on September 13. He is still saying, I don't have to play by the rules. For a young man who had the world at his feet, he has thrown it all away. His ability to play football does not guarantee his future in the NFL and he has thrown all of that career away.

I've been working pretty hard on this site, trying to have it where I want it by the 7th, thus I've been working with Drupal very extensively. I think that my very first Getting Technical will be all about the Drupal CMS.
