Why is Jimmy Carter probably the worse President of the United States of the twentieth century going to the middle east to talk to Hamas and Syrian leaders? Isn’t Hamas the group that wants the abolition and destruction of Israel? Did Mr.Carter actually put a wreath at the grave of international terrorist Yasser Arafat’s grave?

I am no different that many Catholics that watch the Pope’s visit with a fair amount of reverence and awe. I decided not long after he became Pope that I liked this guy. He is intelligent, strong, caring and he is a straight shooter.

Early this morning I received an email asking a question: “why haven’t you sent a prayer list out for awhile?

The question deserves an honest and thoughtful answer.

For a few years, as I have gotten older, I have heard my contemporaries complain about this generation….our children. I have always chalked it off as the usual things the “older” generation complains about the “younger generation. In fact for a long time I told my generation that they sound like our parents and the world is not really going into the dumpster.
