Bill

Bill’s served as a political operative in three Democratic presidential campaigns He served on the campaigns of Senator Hubert Humphey (MN), Senator Eugene McCarthy(MN), and Senator Lloyd Bentsen(TX). He also worked for Senator Stuart Symington(MO).

A long time Democrat, he insists he is now leaning towards becoming “a Libertarian/Anarchist in response to the incompetence of government in general and particular, we need to solve problems not extend them for political purposes.” To paraphrase Ronald Reagan, “I didn’t leave the Democratic Party, they left me…It was just too tough to drink the’ new democratic party’ kool-aid.”

After leaving partisan politics he has concentrated on non-partisan races and issue campaigns. The candidates that he is most proud of being associated with are Sen. Humphrey, Sen. Symington and City Councilman Ed Robinson of Webster Groves, MO. “They all have one thing in common…honor and integrity.”

He has been fortunate in having the opportunity to work in a variety of areas besides politics and the media. He has worked in radio and television and print media. Bill has also worked with several non-profit performing arts and fine arts organizations, literacy and children’s programs and as a college basketball coach. Most recently he hosted the “Morning Wave” on KCFV-FM for three and half years before starting for UnCommonSenseRadio.com. with Nancy Quigle and Lou Conrad.

His greatest achievement was raising his daughter, Sondra, who had Cystic Fibrosis and required a double lung transplant. Sondra passed away in June of 2004 but Bill continues to work for a cure for CF and to make people aware of the importance of being an organ donor. Each year he organizes an organ donation drive over the Fourth of July in his community. He say’s “the greatest title he has ever had was Sondra’s Dad.”

He is a graduate of Webster College (B.A. Public Policy Analysis) , University of Michigan (M.A. School of Communications and Theatre) and the recipient of two graduate fellowships. He was a CORO Foundation in Public Affairs and a PTP Fellow at the University of Michigan. He currently teaches Communications at Webster University, Lindenwood University and St. Louis Community College.

He writes short stories and plays, watches a lot of movies and talks to his dogs, Duke, Tina and his turtle, Tooter…he insists they talk back. That should tell you something.
